Watching Angels Dance

Watching Angels Dance

Isn’t it funny how?
God always knows
Which color of eyes
The perfect shape of a nose

Would be most fitting
When designing us
At the wave of a hand
With very little fuss

The brilliance of our Creator
Is amazing indeed
How he fills every void
Tends to every need

Making the color of the ocean
And a grain of sand
Equally as important
As the creation of man

He brought us here together
To learn from the start
To love from within
Beginning with our hearts

Every organism has
Its own special duty
Under the site of God
Amazed by His beauty

We grow together as one
As His will would have it be
Reminding us to love each other
I love you ...you love me

And when we begin living
For our earthly desires
He exhibits His anger
And unforeseen things transpire

The heavens open up
And the world below shakes
He sends in storms
And giant earthquakes

He reminds us daily that He loves
Our tender hearts
But let there be no mistake
We must do our part

Our part may seem difficult
Of that there is no doubt
But while we are wasting time
Trying to figure it out

We are failing to do what
He sent us for
To save one another
To open closed doors

We get so busy questioning
The meaning of it all
And get caught up in us
And soon comes a great fall

We forgot the homeless man
Who is living down town
We act like we don’t see him
Since we don’t see God around

We ignore the pleas of children
With no food to eat
Well, I want to help
Maybe next week

We avoid the abused
We ignore the maimed
And we curse God
When we encounter the same

We expect God to be
At our beckoned call
But we ignore Gods wishes
And another tear falls

God cries not for himself
But the ignorance of man
And when things become
So far out of hand

He lifts up His hand
And yells a thunderous STOP
Stating...I care not what you want
I don’t care what you thought

I gave you one job
The most important one
To love one another
And you reach for guns

You no longer listen
To the heart beat of God
And yet tremble in fear
At the sight of my rod

You say you want peace
Yet rarely a day goes by
When you aren’t destroying each other
And now you ask why?

Give the love I gave you
It costs you not a dime
Those hearts that you are breaking
Those souls are mine

Those lives left barren
With bullets piercing their skin
Were your brothers and sisters
At the very least...your friends

They were angels I sent you
To keep you on your path
And look at your destruction
The violent aftermath

And He slowly whispers softly
I hope you get it right
Because there will come one more day
When you come into my sight

And on the Day of Judgment
Let there be no mistake
I will ask of your contribution
And the difference you made

What wrongs did you correct
Since we last spoke
How did you repair
The hearts that you broke

And if you stand in silence
As children often do
I will mention
It was all up to you

So my child take this
Your one final chance
To join me in Heaven
To watch the angels dance

The Wings of Angels

The Wings of Angels

In life there are a few things which remain
Through Our Creator we know this is true
That while we may try to demean others
The only loser will always be you

We may convince ourselves of victory
And celebrate the defeat
Of tearing down the hearts of others
Some of whom we have yet to meet

We may say they are less than us
Or maybe that we are more
And we may have lots of fame
Money and friends galore

I suppose it just depends
On how we measure our wealth
I mean is it weighed by our check book
Or by our spiritual health

One day we must realize
Sooner or later we must admit
That true worth is not counting
The diamonds on our wrist

You cannot purchase value
And what’s valuable cannot be bought
Greatness can only be achieved
When the divine truth is sought

And seek it I implore you
Know that in which you sow
Will not produce fruit in His garden
Vanity isn’t supposed to grow

I understand your struggle
I know it can seem you’ve won
But like Icarus and his fake wings
You will never rise up to the sun

It’s sad...you’ve been done a disservice
We told you that fame is great
But the price of fame will only
Keep you outside of the Holy Gates

When we look down upon others
As if we created anything at all
Just like the mighty giants
We have so much further to fall

Find a way to love your brothers
And give that which is not yours
And be not amazed when God
Opens closed windows and doors

In closing I will add this
A truth I hope you never deny
Anytime you try to clip the wings of angels
It is you who will fail to fly

God Will Meet You There

God Will Meet You There

I remember like it was yesterday
 When things felt so bad
My life seemed in ruins...
I was broken...torn and sad

I softly cried and mourned
As I lay there in pain
My heart in pieces
I would never be the same

How could this happen...
Why didn’t I see?
Why did he do this...?
What is happening to me?

All alone in isolation
 My own self made jail
Unable to see any hope
 I was doomed to fail

He took away a part of me...
The purest of my self
And now there’s nothing left...
My heart upon a shelf

Then a sweet voice
Within the darkness came
And my fog was lifted
And I rose above the shame

You did nothing wrong
Said the voice just beyond my sight
I’m sorry that you are hurting...
But you will be alright

Sometimes things will happen
And we may feel all alone
But remember you are loved by a God
 That you have always known

You were not being punished
And although your pain is deep
Know that this is not a secret
That you were meant to keep

You need to reach out to others
And show them there is no shame
Show them their strength by sharing your heart...
So they may do the same

Help them rise above this cowardly act
By shining light on the offense
Tear down walls...build bridges...
Line paths with common sense

The victor is not the one
Who over powers women of our God
Victory is not found with the biggest fist
 Or with the sharpest rod

Success is found within those hearts
 That rise against the fall
And suddenly those very big
 Become instantly very small

He did not take your soul
When he took those other things
And while he may be bold...
You are the one with wings

You speak of truth and love divine
 Above all shame and hate
You show how God instilled love
 In everything He creates

HE is the answer to all questions
And when one dares ask why
They will know the answer by your humble smile...
The look in your eye

He may think he destroyed you
With the angry act he did do
But that’s because he doesn’t know God
And therefore he didn’t know you

Smile sweet angel with the knowledge
That God will never leave your side
And know that judgment will come
 With every tear you cried

Fear not soft hearted woman...
For you are not alone
God sent me to remind you
 What you have always known

Spread this divine message
 Even through your despair
And once you reach heavens gates...
God will meet you there

Precious Moments

Precious Moments
If I had taken a picture
For every time you smiled
I would have a creation of love
That would span across the miles

If I had known this small hand
Would give my heart wings
I would have held it more often
And forgotten lesser things

If I had imagined that there were angels
With silken flowing hair
That gave God’s love freely...
By simply breathing our air

I would have hugged you more often
And frowned so much less
I would have dipped your dreams in chocolate
In spite of the mess

I would have understood that smiles are hugs
We give our broken hearts
And it doesn’t matter when you finish
Only that you start

I would have seen that life isn’t
Always what we thought
And our souls cannot be purchased
And God’s love cannot be bought

I would have lined your path with rainbows
And little pots of gold
And given you more love and peace
Than your little hands could hold

I will not feel bad
About the things that I regret
About all of the goals
That I still haven’t met

Instead I will give you
All I have and hold dear
This is the knowledge
That God led you here

So beautiful soul
Wherever your heart lands
I want you to know
That I finally understand

God has no boundaries
And has no sense of time
But out few precious moments
Are priceless treasures of mine

For the Love of a Child

For the Love of A Child

Today is Universal Children’s Day. It is the official day when we are prompted to celebrate the children in our lives. We are to remind the children around us that they are far more important than they could conceivably imagine.
How does one celebrate this auspicious occasion? We simply take time, and give time...to those little hearts and minds that we love so much. I know we can get busy...there doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day. But just like we re-arrange our lives for an impromptu conference or business meeting...we simply just need to pencil our children in. We need to take this day off. We need to center our day on the people that bring us joy, simply by smiling. We celebrate the fact that these little miracles...create GREAT joy.
It isn’t necessary that we spend a month’s salary on this day either...because all they really want is our time. One afternoon walk with a child could right a lifetime of wrongs. Holding your son or daughter’s hand can be the most loving thing, and it only costs us our time. Touch can be the universal language...because children understand that feeling. Words can get lost in translation...we can say something and forget we said it. But touching someone’s hand or rubbing their soft cheek says...you matter to me.
Create a family dinner together...allow your child to add ingredients in a bowl, or set a table. Make a menu that is kid friendly...incorporate your child’s ideas when planning your meal or dessert.
Turn off your television, don’t go online...and silence your cell phone. Place any distractions out of your sight, all that matters today is being thankful and celebrating your child or the children in your lives.
Listen to soft music, while finger painting or drawing with your child. Tell him or her about the things that you used to do as a child. Contrast the difference between life now and life then.
Dig up old family photographs from when you were their age...talk about the different styles of clothes and hair. Create a family tree with pictures or memorabilia. Get a world map and talk about the places that you have been...and where your child might like to go. Create a “what if” vacation... see where your child’s imagination will take him or her. Write a story where he or she is the prince or princess. Make up a song telling about your day. Read a book that you read as a child. Tell them about the very first day that you laid eyes on them. Go to a museum, or art exhibit; simply enjoy the fact that today...you are blessed. You get to spend time with this sweet heart...you get to give thanks to God...by appreciating this gift of love.
Why do we celebrate Universal Children’s Day? We celebrate this day because life can move very quickly. Often, we struggle to keep up with the fast pace of our lifestyles. Unfortunately, there are times when we fail to remind ourselves that the people that we love...are more important than any other person or situation in our lives. This is the world’s chance to embrace the love of a child. Children love freely, without reservation. Children never worry about loving too much or being loved too little. They are the semblance of innocence and purity...they are symbolic of all things great and small; true proof that big things come in little packages.
I have never found anything as moving as the love of a child. There is little more peaceful than watching an infant napping. These small bundles of joy truly are angels on earth. They warm the coldest of hearts. I feel certain that was their purpose all along. Somehow the voice of a child can tame the savage beast. Most of the time our children are in awe of us, even when we feel that we aren’t exactly who we wish we were; children think we are great just because they love us. And because they love us...we are great. On this day we can enjoy the fact that we are viewed with rose colored glasses.
So on this day...join me in celebrating the lives of these tender warriors. Let us use these wonderful people as an excuse to love each other a little more.  And I pray that we will all make the world a safer more loving world; for who is more deserving of peace and joy than the world’s children.
